In Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and related conditions, the thirst reflex may be suppressed. So sufferers drink too little water and what they do drink (tap water) is inadequate in quality. The blood may become more viscous. All these factors compound the problem of treating Myalgic Encephalomyelitis.
In my opinion, a supply of pure, high quality drinking water is essential in the management of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and related conditions. Such water should not come into contact with chemicals, with plastic (hypoallergenic plastic is OK) or with brass taps. Mineral water can be got in glass bottles, but this is an expensive solution in the long term.
SOME SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEM
In my experience, there are two solutions to the problem. These are water filtration plus ionisation and water filtration alone. In my personal experience, water filtration plus ionisation is far superior to filtration alone in its therapeutic effect on ME. But it is more expensive. Details of both processes below.
