The word 'Yoga' is
derived from the Sanskrit and means a yoking or
union. It is a Hindu system of philosophy aimed at the mystical union
of the Self with the Supreme Being in a state of complete awareness and
tranquility.
This state is achieved through a course of related exercises and postures that are designed to promote physical and spiritual wellbeing. This video is a brief demonstration of some of these exercises and postures, in their more advanced form. But a scaled down and very gentle form of Yoga can also have a healing effect. If you suffer from ME, CFS or Fibromyalgia, a Yoga teacher will be able to adapt Yoga principles and practice to your individual needs.
